Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 September 2026

Pre-launch draft. Tryve is not yet open to the public. These terms are pending legal review before launch.

Who can use Tryve

You must be at least 13 to hold an account. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must give consent before your profile is built — see our Privacy Policy. By creating an account you confirm the information you give us is accurate, including your date of birth.

What Tryve is

Tryve helps you explore colleges and understand what they are likely to cost. It is an information and guidance tool.

What Tryve is not — please read this one

Cost figures are estimates, not quotes. They are built from published federal data about what other students paid, and your family is not the average. Only a college's own financial aid office can tell you what you will pay. Always run the college's own net price calculator before making a decision.

Earnings figures are historical medians, not predictions. They describe what earlier graduates of a program earned. They are not a forecast of what you will earn, and a median hides a wide range.

Tryve does not give financial, legal or admissions advice. We are not financial advisers. Decisions about borrowing, and about where to apply, are yours.

Data coverage is uneven. Some colleges have far more data than others, and some fields are missing entirely. Where we do not know something, we say so rather than guessing — but the absence of a warning is not a guarantee of completeness.

Ora, our AI guide

Ora is an AI assistant. It is clearly identified as an AI, and it can be wrong or incomplete. Do not rely on it as your only source for a decision that matters. Conversations with Ora are processed by third-party AI providers to generate a reply.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not use Tryve to break the law, to harass anyone, or to try to access another person's data.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your settings, and a parent or guardian can withdraw consent by emailing privacy@tryve.me. Withdrawing consent stops us processing the student's data and locks the account; it does not delete it, so consent can be given again without them losing their work. If you want the account and its data erased, ask and we will do that instead. We may suspend an account that is being used to break these terms.

Changes

We will tell you before these terms change in a way that materially affects you. Continuing to use Tryve after that means you accept the change.
